The closing Liturgy of the 2008 West Coast Call To Action Conference, held in San Jose, California, last week (see “highlights” below) demonstrates why faithful Catholics must move to convince U.S. Bishops that the time has come for the full dissolution of all false renewal (see: dissent) groups within the Church such as Call To Action.
Liturgical abuses at the conference included, but, perhaps were not limited to:
A syncretic Buddhist meditation opening the Mass… Liturgical dancers bodies gyrating with one another and toward the Word… Life-sized Mr. Potato Head Jesus Puppets (complete with stoles) appear concelebrating the Mass… Use of leavened instead unleavened bread…Denial of the spiritual reality of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit within prayer… Homily given by layperson, and other abuses I’ll leave for competent liturgical experts to define, explain and mourn.
Liturgical abuse notwithstanding, all this spawn of the Devil only amplifies the reality of the endangerment of souls, whom after having allowed themselves to be led into association with formal, organized, and long-standing ecclessial disobedience to the Church, now find themselves separated from the right ordering of their Catholic faith and its practice, as conference workshops and presentations confirm.

Thanks for the reply. The reason I am interested in how people react to the One True Faith series is because it is ….aggresive. There is a wide range of apologetics out there from mild to aggressive. You may not like his style but that’s not the major point. WHAT he says is of importance. To be concise, he does not teach how he personally thinks people should follow the church (that’s protestantism). He is teaching Catholic doctrines in a way that many politically correct 21st century people can’t handle. Nowadays, when someone speaks to the subject of “truth” as Mr. Voris does, people right away shout narrow-mindedness. That’s the problem. People can’t handle being told that one thing is true and another thing is not. Again, you can disagree with his style all you want but shouldn’t you challenge WHAT he says?
He is not “fighting the current leadership” if he is doing this in your mind…how so?
Also, …. “belief that anything else but what comes out of his mouth is the work of the devil and those who don’t follow the Church according to the way he sees the Catholic church are of Satan.” This is a strawman argument. This is not how he argues his point.
Thanks again for the reply

“Dear Psalm.. Bet I could give your initials”
As in we know each other ?
As for the rest. Ehh, If I’ve heard that same response once, I’ve heard it a thousand times. Basically it goes something like this.. The Catholic Church is _______ (fill in line) with : Corrupt, closed-minded, wrong on just about everything and anyone who believes in what the church teaches is a mindless, unthinking, indoctrinated robot. Of course the person telling me these things has…THE TRUTH…and all the answers. Often their version of truth is based on misunderstandings of the teachings and history of Catholic Church or they have bought into anti-Catholic rhetoric and propaganda. You get the picture. You are correct. It’s not worth arguing about. Especially when people are not willing to learn what the Catholic Church actually teaches. I prefer to continue to learn about my faith (authentically), teach, and discuss. I’m not big on debates. I leave that to people who enjoy such things and have time to spend on such endeavors.
