So it’s illegal to sprinkle holy water around a den of iniquity now, eh?

Dear Pro-Life Friends and Media,

Please read the forwarded message below and watch this disturbing video of a 75-year-old Christian/Catholic elderly lady being arrested for sprinkling Holy Water on a public sidewalk outside the local abortion business in Huntsville, Alabama.

I have personally known Mrs. Joyce Fecteau since 2008 and have interviewed her on several occasions. She is a kind, compassionate lady who raised seven children of her own, and she has also spent most of her adult life reaching out to pregnant women in need in helping them to get the resources that they needed to choose Life! She has helped to save hundreds of preborn babies and women from the pain of abortion, and many of the women that she has helped have returned to the sidewalk of the abortion business months and even years later to personally thank her for her efforts there.
I am disheartened that anyone would interfere with Mrs. Fecteau’s beautiful ministry and wonderful efforts in helping women. Women deserve the resources and emotional support for the choice of Life! Neither abortion nor the “slavery of welfare” are Equal Opportunity for women in America. We must continue to reach out and help pregnant women in need to decrease the number of abortions nationwide and to build stronger women in America!

Shame on those who would arrest a Christian woman for sprinkling Holy Water
on the public sidewalk in front of an abortion clinic in Huntsville,
Alabama…..All Christians nationwide need to stand together in support of
this lady and her husband in opposition to this travesty. Our goal is 1,000
people from all over the country to stand with her at her trial at the
Huntsville Police building on February, 21st. A permit for use of the
parking lot is being requested. More You Tube videos will be released on
this issue in the next few days to include a 45 minute documentary at the
abortion clinic.

Justice demands we stand with this brave husband and wife for standing for
life in an uncompromising and loving way. For more information about this
event please contact Reverend James Henderson, at 256 3378 0826, or email

“Communist Pro-Life” Pamphlet from Canada’s past resurfaces

It’s not often that I associate “Pro-Life” and “Communism” together, in fact never. They’ll say anything I suppose…

Interesting post from the Big Blue Wave Blog deserves a read through.

I happened upon this pro-life pamphlet from the Canadian Party of Labour, published circa. 1973. It is entitled: Abortion, Population Control, Genocide: The ’Scientific’ Killers and Who Sent for Them.

The Canadian Party of Labour was part of the anti-revisionist strain of socialism. Anti-Revisionists opposed “fake communists” like the ones who headed the Soviet Union at the time. They thought they represented “authentic” Marxist-Leninism. One of their best-known mottos was “30 for 40”, meaning receiving 40 hours’ pay for 30 hours’ work.

The pamphlet does not argue strictly from a perspective of fetal personhood but it is assumed throughout. The main thrust of their argument is that abortion amounts to the genocide of blacks and the working class, and that “under capitalism, free abortions are forced abortions.”

I strongly recommend you read it, as it has loads of interesting tidbits. Many of their arguments presented are the ones we bourgeois pro-lifers use today. Sometimes it’s a little painful to read, because their hearts were in the right place, but they genuinely believed that once socialism was in place, women won’t have to abort! They’ll have everything they need to raise children. Very sad.

One of the passages that struck me the most was the communist indictment of Catholic bishops for their lukewarm opposition (or even support) or abortion. Now the author was completely wrong about the history of the Church’s past prohibition of abortion. However, the Church’s limp-wrested opposition gave him reason for his cynicism:

As for the Catholic Church, the hierarchy in Rome continues to keep one foot in the feudal era, but big-city Cardinals in a number of capitalist countries have broken in practice with Rome on this question. The once-powerful Catholic anti-abortion propaganda machine in the U.S. has in the last few years let out barely a whimper as the bosses move to institute a policy of legal and free abortions nationwide. In Holland the Catholic hierarchy has come out openly for abortions.Probably the next Pope will get a “revelation” on this subject bringing Church policy officially in line with the needs and desires of the capitalist ruling classes.

It is interesting to read that, in light of the history, knowing that a Pope from a communist country would accede to the throne of Peter and reinforce opposition to abortion, not soften it.

And what about a woman’s right to own her own body?

VIDEO: The horrifying culmination of abortive societies?

If society continues along the path of devaluing the child, treating children as property to acquire or dispose of at will, might we not expect in the future to accept the horrible imitation?

AbortionWiki Launch to Shine Light on Global Abortion Industry

AbortionWiki Launch to Shine Light on Global Abortion Industry

Launching on January 19, 2012, AbortionWiki.org will serve as a comprehensive and impartial resource of all information relevant to beginning and end of life issues such as abortion, euthanasia and stem cell research.

“Sir Francis Bacon said it best when he wrote, ‘Knowledge is power,’” says AbortionWiki Director, Andy Moore. “AbortionWiki makes use of this power by documenting the U.S. and international abortion industry and lobby on one wiki-based website.”

AbortionWiki seeks to expose the abortion industry on an international scale. It will achieve this by making use of the powerful yet simple wiki software – the same software which powers Wikipedia.org. By connecting the dots between the various facets of the abortion industry and lobby, a clearer picture will be made visible.

“AbortionWiki will be powerful because it is people-powered. Thousands of people around the world will have the opportunity to log in and contribute their local and specialized knowledge.”

“What has the abortion industry got to hide?” Mr. Moore asks. “If there is nothing wrong with abortion, why is this industry so shrouded in secrecy? Why are the blinds down at every Planned Parenthood clinic you drive past?”

“In his letter to the Ephesians Paul writes, ‘Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.’ That’s exactly our goal in launching this website,” Mr. Moore continues.

AbortionWiki will become a comprehensive and reliable turn-to reference point for all matters relating to abortion and other life issues. This will be achieved through stringent referencing and quality control, and by a network of moderators ensuring that only factual information is provided on the website.

Subjects covered will include abortionists, clinic workers, abortion methods, pro-choice groups, activists, the history of abortion, voting records of politicians, statistics and much more.

“Our research has shown that wiki-based websites are extremely search-engine friendly,” Mr. Moore says. “If you are involved in the abortion industry, you can look forward to your very own article on AbortionWiki, there for your children and grandchildren to see in years to come.”

The ‘Fat Cats Lose, Babies Win!’ Amendment to the U.S. Constitution

"...we’ll dump the fat cats for you, if you give us back our babies."

After reading here, that Portland Mayor Sam Adams has issued a proposed resolution of the Portland City Council supporting an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that makes clear that corporations are not people and money is not speech, I had an idea.

In fact, I believe it to be a brilliant idea whose time has come, if I do say so myself. (And no doubt, probably will…)

Yet, here it is:

We Pro-Life nuts scattered about the country promise to support non-personhood status for all corporations, if you Occupod nut-job types promise as well to support personhood status to all unborn children.

In a nutshell, (so to speak), “we’ll dump the fat cats for you, if you give us back our babies.”

MIC CHECK!

I  propose here…

with you…,

to occupy together…

common ground moment…

most American’s say they’ve long-yearned for…

by a shared initiative dubbed…

‘The ‘Fat Cats Lose, Babies Win!’

Amendment to the United States Constitution.

The only requirement of both sides is to work together equally hard in passing one amendment with language that will satisfy each of our goals, these two premises:

corporations are not people and money is not speech.

and,

define personhood as beginning at conception and that the purpose is to protect all life, regardless of age, health, function, physical or mental dependency, or method of reproduction.

That’s it. Whose with it, or why not?

Me, the People,

Me, the Serious,

We, the 99%?

Seizing the executioner’s sword — Gov. Kitzhaber does the right thing, death penalty unnecessary

Moratorium is right

Gov. John Kitzhaber has done the right thing in following his conscience. Haunted by acquiescence in two executions during the 1990s, the governor would not sign off on another and has called instead for a moratorium on the death penalty and statewide discussion on the practice.

That means convicted murder Gary Haugen will not receive a lethal injection as planned on Dec. 6. Haugen wants to die and he bears great guilt as opposed to the thousands of innocent unborn babies killed each year in our state; we want no part of either kind of death.

The Catholic Church taught that capital punishment was allowable as a last resort to protect society. But in Evangelium Vitae in 1995, Pope John Paul wrote that modern methods of incarceration have made the death penalty unnecessary in almost all cases.
Had we killed Haugen, we would have borne guilt of our own.

The United States, in allowing executions, is in dubious company. No other developed nation allows capital punishment, but those that do include Afghanistan, China, Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Somalia and Zimbabwe.

Haugen was slated to die on Dec. 6, the feast of St. Nicholas. That would have been a poignant date, since it was St. Nicholas who in the 4th century saved three prisoners who were about to be beheaded by the ruler of Myra in Asia Minor. Nicholas, bishop of the region, waded through a crowd of watchers, seized the executioner’s sword and threw it to the ground.

We are glad to be part of a church still keeping an eye out for justice and we thank Gov. Kitzhaber for his action. We can only hope that he will remember this experience of exercising conscience when time comes for him to consider conscience rights for health workers who choose not to be associated with abortion and contraception.

Catholic teaching on the death penalty…

Catechism of the Catholic Church – 2267

Assuming that the guilty party’s identity and responsibility have been fully determined, the traditional teaching of the Church does not exclude recourse to the death penalty, if this is the only possible way of effectively defending human lives against the unjust aggressor. If, however, non-lethal means are sufficient to defend and protect people’s safety from the aggressor, authority will limit itself to such means, as these are more in keeping with the concrete conditions of the common good and more in conformity with the dignity of the human person. Today, in fact, as a consequence of the possibilities which the state has for effectively preventing crime, by rendering one who has committed an offense incapable of doing harm – without definitely taking away from him the possibility of redeeming himself – the cases in which the execution of the offender is an absolute necessity “are very rare, if not practically non-existent.”  Catechism of the Catholic Church – 2267
