This photo is from the “Occupy Wall Street” inspired riots in Rome. At one point rioters from the “Indignant” movement stormed into a Catholic church, tore down a crucifix and smashed that statue. Damages were around $1.4 million. HT/GUY C. STEVENSON

  1. The image of the Mother of Jesus should be spared. She has nothing to do with their protests. Are they Satan’s supporters? Read as follows:

    Revelation 12:17 (Douay Rheims Bible)

“And the dragon was angry against the woman: and went to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. [18] And he stood upon the sand of the sea”.

  2. And from Genesis: Chapter 3:15 (Douay Rheims Bible)

“I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.”

[15] “She shall crush”… Ipsa, the woman; so divers of the fathers read this place, conformably to the Latin: others read it ipsum, viz., the seed. The sense is the same: for it is by her seed, Jesus Christ, that the woman crushes the serpent’s head.

Psilomelane– What a secular (humanist) would not understand concerning this physical manifestation of violence directed at an image of the Blessed Virgin is the unseen spiritual reality of the Mother of God Herself, and Her role within man’s salvation–and in a real sense too, that of the perpetrator(s) life who is ignorant of his/her own spiritual origin as a created being.

As I tell my CCD (Sunday school) children at the beginning and end of each season of lessons, so it applies to all souls: If you should ever find yourself lost in the world or hopeless to the point of despair, you need to right away remember what the meaning of life is–and follow it.” And here is the meaning of life for both children and the spiritually ignorant– “To come to know, love, and serve God in this life, and be happy with Him forever in the next.”

And this is where the Blessed Mother of God is all powerful in the lives of those in search of the absolute truth about themselves and God. As She is (spiritually speaking) Mother of the Word:

[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him: and without him was made nothing that was made. [4] In him was life, and the life was the light of men. [5] And the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

The truth is, Satan and every bad spirit do all in their power to keep souls from discovering the Light of God which is the life of all men, and necessary means of salvation leading to eternal life.

The “Woman” of Genesis and Revelation spoken above is one and the same, Mary. And Her role in the economy of salvation is that of a spiritual motherhood, in which she draws all the necessary graces of God so that her seed, Jesus Christ, may be born within the souls of men–

    But there remains a battle.

The attack on the church in Rome is a physical manifestation of human anger inspired by a spirit who’d rather not have his head crushed by the true meaning of life.

  3. In reply to Psilomelane:

You have to remember that the Devil knows how to play the secular card, the equal rights card, the gay card, and the whatsoever card or trick that it will take to either cast doubt on the Truth, to cause confusion, or to facilitate the destruction of truth(s) in general. If you do not believe this, then it is highly recommended that you study the French Revolution, which was probably the most demonically inspired manifestation of satanic hatred against God and His Church through the pride of fallen and sinful mankind. And yes, this is clearly diabolic. The Devil himself or demons themselves do not necessarily have to be present to show forth the power of their influence over the fallen sons and daughters of Adam and Eve. The fact that a statue of Our Lady of Grace (which is connected to her Immaculate Conception) was smashed, is not insignificant. Think about it…
