Video: Belgium Archbishop Andre Leonard hit by pie

In this April 23, 2010 file photo, Belgium's Archbishop Andre-Joseph Leonard addresses the media in Brussels. On Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010 the spokesman for Andre Leonard, Juergen Mettepenningen, quit his post saying that he could no longer speak for a ''loose canon'' who has shocked Catholics with his apparent defense of priests accused of pedophilia and condemnation of homosexuals. Cowardly act…

Here’s video of the culprit in action.

  1. I can understand the pie incident. If a person is not of the Catholic faith, that person sees it as legitimate protest.Archbishop Leonard, with his educational qualifications must be precise in his statements, and aware of others sensibilities. If Archbishop Leonard has to keep qualifying his statements then he is not in possession of himself. A heart is required, as is common sense, alongside an intellect. Homosexuality may be an disorder but the person afflicted is the victim of this affliction. In catholic parlence it is a big cross to carry. He did not ask for it nor is responsible. In catholic teaching it is wrong to act out the sexual side of it but that is only a part of the affliction. It is part of who he finds himself to be. not easy! Particularly when an archbishop intellectually lectures him in a language that is in todays usage seen as insulting and downgrading without a hint of compassion, and then seems to excuse a priests debauchary.
